IECRC Activities The IECRC carries out a number of activities that are aimed at uniting the community at different levels and dimensions. Biweekly Counseling and Healing sessions are held free of charge to those in dire need of physical, spiritual, and mental healing. Marraige, family, and addiction counseling are an integral part of these sessions. These sessions are open to all irrespective of race, gender, or religion. The Weekly Spiritual Gathering (Zikr) sessions are aimed at providing the much needed harmony and calming within the human spirit and consists of remembrance of God (reciting the names and attributes of God Almighty, Allah audibly), remembrance of His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and remembrance of His Saints and our pious predecessors. The tradition of Langar Qadriyya is an essential part of the Zikr. The celebration of Urs marks the occasion when the pious ones having spent their lives in fear and and hope of their Creator, but always remembered for their intense love for God, are finally united with their Creator. The saints and pious souls are matephorically likened to the brides of God in that respect. Although the passing from this material world of a pious personality is a sad occasion for humanity, which physically loses a great human being, it is in fact a joyous occasion the one who is forever united with his or her Lord. In these conferences, lectures, discourses, and recitals are held so that the community may learn about the lives of these honorable and pious personalities. The conferences are aimed at the community in an effort to inculcate and develop the love, honor and respect that is due to these great personalities.
