Currently, the following course is available:

Arabic Grammar: Beginner Level 2

Course Duration: 4 months held once a week

Course Description:
Participants will learn basic Arabic vocabulary that will be used as a foundation for future intermediate and advanced Arabic courses. Basic rules of Arabic Nahu (Grammar) will be touched upon, although not covered in detail. The terminology of grammar used will only be in the Arabic language. Examples will be used throughout the course to reinforce the rules of grammar covered. The course will be an accelerated version of the University of Damascus Arabic course level 1A. Previous knowledge of Arabic is helpful but not required. Participants must be able to read the Qur’an as a prerequisite.

Objectives:
After completion of this course, participants will be able to do the following:

  • Identify basic Arabic terminology used in everyday conversation
  • Draw from the vocabulary to use in intermediate and advanced courses
  • Construct simple sentence
  • Analyze simple sentences
  • Identify the components of a simple sentence

Required Texts:

  • Al-Kitab ul-Asasi Fi Ta’leem il-Lughat il-Arabiyyati Li Ghayr in-Natiqeen (Book1)
  • Recommended Dictionary: Hans Wehr
