This is IECRC / Shifa Academy's first Fard 'Ayn Certificate Program which aims to cover the basic Islamic Sciences which are an individual obligation. The span of the program is 5 full days. This is an intensive teacher led program. It is primarily geared towards the youth, but younger enthusiastic children and interested adults are also welcome.

The Young Researchers Forum (YRF) intends to build research capacity in youth affiliated with IECRC both in Bahrain and internationally. The Shifa Academy is a project of the IECRC which has been organized for children and youth activities in Bahrain.

We used to be a research based Ummah where we produced knowledge. Unfortunately, now we only consume and have become an Ummah of rhetoric. Through the humble efforts of the YRF, we would like to do our part to reclaim our constructive legacy and move from rhetoric to research, bi idhn Allah.

This online course is a recommended prerequisite for other subjects that will follow, such as Hanafi Fiqh, Hanafi Creed, and so forth (inShaAllah). It is aimed at giving you framework for understanding our Deen (Religion). The well-known Hadith of Jibreel (alayhe salaam), also known as Umm al-Sunnah (The Mother of the Prophetic Traditions) is the foundation for this course. In Sha Allah, once you understand the roadmap of the Deen, understanding the place and need for the other necessary sciences of Islam will become clear as well, and you would easily be able to introduce others (Muslim and non-Muslims) to the practice, the belief, and the spirituality of Islam.

At the end of this course, you will (inShaAllah) be able to:

  • Explain the meaning of the term Islam.
  • Describe the five pillars of practice and their significance.
  • Explain the meaning of the term Iman.
  • Describe an overview of the tenets of the faith.
  • Explain the meaning of the term Ihsan.
  • Describe what is Islamic spirituality.
  • Explain how the three terms relate to what Muslims deem to be Good, True, and Beautiful in their lives.

Audience:

  • 11 years and older
  • New converts to Islam
